Job description:

Key Responsibilities: 

·         Contract Formulation: Formulate strategies for long and short-term contracts for materials, ensuring compliance with the annual budget.

·         Purchase Planning: Develop purchase plans and budgets by interacting with process owners, ensuring timely submission of material requirements to the Central Procurement Cell (CPC).

·         Optimization of Procurement: Ensure timely procurement of all items at an optimum price to achieve budgeted production targets.

·         Process Improvement: Review and refine commercial processes related to purchase requisitions, approvals, tracking, vendor registration, and database management.

·         Vendor Coordination: Coordinate with CPC for timely placement of orders, resolve queries, and conduct vendor meetings for better quality of services.

·         Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, plan and strategize management of project equipment, bulk materials, fuels, and disposal of scrap and waste.

·         Compliance and Legal: Ensure 100% legal compliance, particularly for hazardous category scrap, and benchmark inventory levels with group units.

·         Cost-effective Purchasing: Drive cost-effective purchasing through value engineering, benchmarking, and negotiation strategies.

·         Risk Management: Define checks and balances to minimize risks from vendors, develop norms, and ensure compliance with regulations.

·         Vendor Evaluation: Rigorously evaluate vendors before awarding contracts, track vendor performance, and refine contractual clauses for performance standards.

·         Statutory Compliance: Ensure timely availability of all services needed for plant operations, maintenance, and housekeeping, in compliance with statutory requirements.

·         Continuous Improvement: Implement CSM procedure and guidelines, foresee market factors impacting availability and cost, and formulate mitigation plans.

·         Quality Control: Ensure all required parameters are met, understand component costing, and provide inputs for refinement.

·         Team Management: Mentor and develop the team, ensure adherence to safety standards, and drive improvement projects and initiatives.
