Job description:

Vestas Power Solutions is the R&D function of Vestas. Through innovation, development, and continuous improvement we develop the products and technologies that reduce the cost of energy and bring the highest possible value to our customers and to Vestas. Within Vestas Power Solution business unit, the department Control Hardware Module is responsible for the design and development of Low Voltage control panels and the control system across various sections of Wind Turbine. Control Hardware module is inclusive of several submodules explicit to each section of Wind Turbine.

You will be part of the Module Tech Lead and Integration group, responsible for delivering the complete Low voltage Electrical package, which includes design and development of LV control panels, Cables, Electronics and Sensors used on different applications/sections across the Wind Turbine. You will be deeply involved in the process of Modular Architecture development together with Technical Management in both Internal and cross function modules. You will be involved in creation of modular design requirements and solutions by using System Engineering techniques and Simulations to build the new wind turbines smarter, efficient, and more robust, thereby shaping the future of renewable energy.

Responsibilities

You will be taking End to End ownership of delivering the Low Voltage Electrical package [from concept to final product validation] in the project according to Vestas execution model

You will be the primary point of contact to handle and drive the technical solution across the modules and product leads, having a close collaboration with Tech management and Submodule TLs in the project

You will be one of the key stakeholders involved in Level B and Level C planning in the module supporting the Project Manager and Submodule Tech leads

Responsible for finalizing Module Design requirements, Space claims, Interfaces and Change management

Responsible to prepare and mature the module level Design description, Verification plan and procedures, Risk assessments and Cost overview throughout the entire gate model of the project

Assist and provide technical expertise to the submodules by Identifying and managing risk and dependencies

Take ownership of technical issues, continues follow up on solutions and ensure the implementation through process to maintain loss production factor within the limit

Support manufacturing on prototype build and timely action on addressing the design corrections and updates to ensure the smooth transition of the components entering to 0-series in time

Participate on Integration test, component validations and maintain close interaction with commissioning team

You build and maintain relations with a large range of stakeholders in the entire value chain, keeping your project team motivated and your stakeholders supportive

Facilitate the lesson learned to report the potential improvements back into the team/module

Identify, develop, and validate the technical/process improvements as part of continuous improvement process

Qualifications

Bachelor's / Master's in Electrical / Similar engineering specialization

Minimum 10+ years of relevant experience in Electrical Design and Project Execution. Experience within wind/energy Industry especially with WTGs will be preferred

Hands on experience on tools like DFMEA, Creo view and Windchill (ETAP - would be an added advantage)

Experience on handling ECM (engineering change management) along the product life cycle

Knowledge on International standards such as IEC, UL, etc., preferably IEC 60204-1 Machine directive

Basic knowledge on EMC (Electromagnetic compatibility) design and testing requirements

Experience in product development process with knowledge of complete design and life cycle management

Experience in stakeholder management spanning full value chain
