The Employee will be responsible for will planning, organizing, and documenting complex virtual desktop interface solutions to be consistent with institutional policies/procedures. Responsible for leading migration activities from Kyndryl managed VDI to R1 managed Azure Virtual Desktop as well as continued support for user base and leadership duties with AVD technical team members. Duties also include communicating technical/complex information both verbally and in writing, establishing, and maintaining cooperation, understanding, trust and credibility.
Responsibilities:
Assist AVD team in developing AVD infrastructure and application implementation plans and testing procedures to ensure operational reliability and scalability
Assist in developing migration and support plans for users into AVD
Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the infrastructure
Works with business stakeholders to ensure project delivery expectations are communicated and met and to drive adoption
Lead technical initiatives and acts as a mentor for junior and senior team members
Perform multiple tasks concurrently and respond to emergency situations effectively
Created, manage and maintain support processes and workflows
Assist in managing AVD support\infra team members to ensure availability of team and support across a 24/7 support operation
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline, relevant experience may substitute for the degree
3 + years of overall advanced virtual desktop experience
5 years extensive Microsoft server/desktop administration and Active Directory in an enterprise environment
Expertise in the Windows 10 operating system environment
Proficient in determining the appropriate strategy for recoverability and continuity of business operations
Experience creating, maintaining, and communicating complex information technology documentation
Working knowledge of Azure administration
Experience creating software packages, deployment, patch management, data and cost analytics
Knowledge of cloud, networking, and enterprise architectures
Desired Qualifications:
Designing and supporting Microsoft infrastructure solutions including Azure Virtual Desktop, on-prem, cloud and hybrid
Experience working with multiple vendors such as Microsoft, Citrix, and VMware Horizon
Hands-on experience with Azure Virtual Desktop
Citrix or Azure Certifications highly desirable
Ability to maintain the highest levels of customer satisfaction and be service-oriented
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
