Gender diversity in particular, we believe, is a journey and not a destination. There are no quick fixes – sustainable progress can only be achieved through a holistic approach that tackles behavioural, process and cultural transformation.From 0.5% women in 1996, today ABG is powered by 26,000 women across the globe, including 5000+ (14%) women in management cadre itself; and we believe we still have a long way to go.

ABG’s key commitments and initiatives

  1. Putting (I)nclusion before (D)iversity: inclusion is what unlocks diversity and is also why ABG is committed to cultivating inclusion first, before tackling matters of diversity. Gender Intelligence workshops, platforms that celebrates stories of unstoppable women in ABG, process bias checks in people processes like compensation, promotion etc. are some ways they enable this.
  2. Creating a strong and sustainable women leadership pipeline – ABG has several women leaders in key roles such as CEO, CFO, Plant Heads, COO, Sustainability, CSR, CHRO, CIO etc. Almost 50% of Group Leadership Program (GLPs) and 40% Graduate Engineering Trainee(GETs) hired this year are women.
  3. Enable women ABGites to take charge and thrive in any situation through empowering policies and practices – Holistic maternity support program, counselling support, no compromise on safety and comfort, continuous listening and connect with women particularly during Covid times are some policies and practices that enable women @ ABG to lead with grace.
