They recognize that every associate is unique, and ensure they have every opportunity to succeed holistically.
In 2023, Lowe’s India celebrated a series of successes and charted the roadmap of several new agendas. They also narrowed focus on learning and introduced a new career advancement program called, “Elevate your Influence” for high-potential women associates. They concluded their 3rd cohort of Do-It-Herself, returnship program for women on career breaks and reaffirmed support towards expecting mothers with Bring Her Back 2.0.
They saw 100% of women returning from maternity leave. Amongst several regular healthcare camps, they also have a special woman and childcare policy benefit. With all efforts combined, they recorded a progressive 35% gender diversity ratio last year.
At Lowe’s India, diversity is regarded as a key strength. The company fosters an inclusive ecosystem through policies like POSH and mandatory unconscious bias training. Recently, they introduced BEI training for interviewers to ensure unbiased evaluations of potential candidates. Facilities have also been upgraded for better accessibility for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).
The business resource groups (BRGs) focused on PWD, LGBTQ+, women, and generations now include over 130 associates, supported by leadership sponsorship to drive strategic goals. Lowe’s commitment to inclusivity extends beyond the workplace through CSR initiatives, which support underserved and LGBTQ+ communities while raising awareness among employees. Together, these diverse voices are shaping a culture of inclusion and contributing to the organization’s success.
